Philly's Most Wanted Get Down or Lay Down
Atlantic
Mr. Man and Boobonic's clever wordplay and engaging flow make their boast of street's triumphs and sexual conquests are easy on the ear. Having the Neptunes produce more than half of the 18 tracks makes this CD a true diamond in the rough. The first single, "Please Don't Mind" is straight bangin' and the latinesque wild out cut "Cross the Border" is a crazy drug smuggling tale. This album has a consistent soulful groove, and in addition to slick talk about living large and hard living, the duo's sharp wit comes through, whether they're cataloging the varieties of "Suckas" or running down the rules of "The Game", these aren't exactly new topics, but they'll still probably see plenty of radio support.

Foxy Brown Broken Silence
Def Jam
"Ain't no bitch that can emulate my classic delivery/I rep New York like the Statue of Liberty/Mentally, I'm in my own zone/holdin' my spot/basically I'm the female Pac." Saying this, Fox states her claim as the top female emcee after a 3 year absence. Miss Brown is ready to put the past behind her. Unlike many emcees, Broken Silence is her story track for track. On "Fallin'", she speaks of life's trials. "The Letter" w/ Ron Isley is a heartfelt rhyme directed at her mother and brothers. "Yeah" w/ Spragga Benz is a return to her Jamaican roots. With such a strong release, let's hope Foxy Brown never decides to be silent again.
