Turk Young & Thuggin
Cash Money
The last of the Hot Boys, Turk, finally gets his to shine or should I say bling. This disc is well worth the wait as Turk brings forth a new sound for the Cash Money camp. The production is entirely done by Mannie Fresh as always. Turk spits about growing up in the projects of New Orleans and his style will distinguish him from the rest. "It's in Me", the first single, is a testimony to Turk's patience. "Growing Up" and "Project" are ghetto tales the people in hoods all across the world will relate to. "Yes We Do" featuring the Hot Boys and new labelmate may be the southern posse cut of the year. Turk's album is solid and won't dissapoint Cash Money fans.

Angie Martinez Up Close & Personal
Elektra
New York's Hot 97.5 Disc Jockey Angie Martinez is the latest in along line of DJ's to drop an LP. Her debut, Up Close & Personal, is morel ike a mixtape featuring your favorite artists. The reason being, the large amount of guest appearances, which makes it seem as if she lacks creativity even though she may not. The hottest cut on this disc is "New York, New York" featuring DJ Clue, and Prodigy of Mobb Deep...the beat is banging so hard it will instantly cause a head nod. "Coast 2 Coast" featuring Wyclef is an upbeat party song with a latin feel. Busta Rhymes even stops by to shine on "Gutter 2 Fancy Ish", but still can't save Angie's attempt to gain respect as an emcee.

Necro Rare Demos and Freestyles volume 1
Psycho+Logical
The crazy necromaniac is at it again, but this time he's hitting us with the first installment of his early ish. I must warn all potential buyers that this is demo quality. Aside from all that, it's an essential part of a necro collection. The appetizer is "My Sweet Dreams" which is tight, and the next 3 songs follow suit. I've got to say that the radio freestyles really show Necro's skill because he and his goons rip the track. The most familiar song on the CD is "Tha Most Sadistic" but, they remixed it. Overall, it's a great cd, only if you can stand the demo quality of the sound, and I can, so I guess that makes me a slime bucket.
