Jax

Originally from new York, Jax was exposed to hip-hop at a very early age. His ears were trained from the music in the streets, to taping Red Alert, Mr. Magic and Marley Marl. This was what Jax felt good music should sound and feel like. jax concentrated more on the visual side of hip-hop, although he wrote raps and poems. He graduated from Art & Design, and headed for Atlanta in search of a business degree. Once Jax moved to Atlanta he decided to take hip-hop serious. He started recording songs, trying to perfect his style. Jax focused on conceptual and creative rhymes, instead of rhymes without substance. As years passed it seemed like Jax would not receive a break, until he did it for himself. Around this time the independent hip-hop scene was blooming, and Jax felt he had enough talent and business savvy to compete in that arena. With this in mind, his partner Flux andhimself created Binkis Records.

Jax has produced, manufactured, marketed, merchandised, co-designed, and distributed his debut compact disc entitled "Observe the L.P.". Observe has received a little buzz in the Metro Atlanta area. Jax has received write ups in Creative Loafing, Elemental, and Frank 151. Jax has sold compact discs in Fatbeats, Hit Disc, and hand to hand at shows. Observe's first single titled "Who is Jax?", has received spins on 97.5 WHTA, 89.3 WRFG, 88.5 WRAS, and 89.9 WKCR in New York on the Cm Famalam show, hosted by Bobbito Garcia. Jax will be releasing his second release JFK in late Spring.

Jax and the Binkis Records crew have performed in the Atlanta area for two years straight. jax has opened for the likes of Del the funky Homosapien, and Massinfluence in Tennessee. Jax and Flux have performed at the Lyricist Lounge and at the legendary Rocksteady Anniversary in New York City. Jax has also performed at the Nuyorican Poet's Cafe in New York City. Jax is known for his live performances. He mixes fun, lyricism, presence, and beats together to produce an experience that the audience will enjoy and never forget.

As one part of the creative energy machine known as Binkis, Jax's business sense has made Binkis a force to be reckoned within the years to come. Concentrating on good music and professional packaging, the vision for Jax and Binkis is to be a full fledged record label in five years. The saying goes "music is 90% business, and 10% music". Watch what happens when Jax shows his command for both and combines the two to solidify his longevity in music history.
