Field Mob 613: Ashy to Classy
MCA Records
Representing Albany, Georgia, the Field Mob are moving up like George and Weezy. Boondox Blax and Kalage sneak into the game with straight southern dialogue about being broke and government assistance. No bling bling here. These two MCs give a new twist to southern livin'. You'll definitely be able to relate to their tales. "Project Dreamz" is about being broke. "My Main Roni" is about being in love with someone who cheats and "Dimez" is about the ideal woman. Blax and Kalage compliments Ole-E tracks perfectly to make this CD a terrific debut.

Funkmaster Flex 60 Minutes of Funk vol. IV
Loud
New York's HOT 97.5/MTV Dee Jay, Funkmaster Flex, is back with his fourth installment to his gold selling 60 minutes of funk series. This time around, Flex uses quite a combination of new and seasoned artists. "Do you" by DMX is the shit(DMX is still the man!)! Flex gives us so much on this CD, it's like buying a legal bootleg. Def Jam newcomer, Ludacris, blazes through the track, "Block Down" as well as" Nelly on "come Over". The only drawback on this disc is the fact that even though the artists are platinum sellers, some of the cuts sounds like B-side cuts. Flex doesn't let his fans down as this disc will be a force to be reckoned with in the next few months.

Punchline & Wordsworth
Mona Hip Hop
Lyricist lounge emcee's Punch & Words attack the world with their seven song EP. Punch and Word are two of he most lyrical cats I've heard in a while. They combine comedy with catchy metaphors that keep the listeners on the edge of their seats. The production was done by, Curt Gowdy, who tried his best to compliment these future lyrical legends. All the cuts are tight so I'll mention my dislikes. "I-95" because it sounded like a cross-over attempt. These two definitely leave you wanting more.

Xzibit Restless
Loud
The rugged west coast MC has put it down and two solid albums and numerous appearances. On his third CD, he has enlisted Dr. Dre as executive producer. This move alone will probably take him to the next level. He also enlisted some heavy weighers to drop his beats such as: Dre, Erick Sermon, Rockwilder, DJ Quikk, Sir Jinx, Battlecat, Soopafly, Mel-Man, and Eminem. He also has tons of guest rappers, which proves to be a plus because it only makes Mr. X to da Z spit harder. "Don't Approach Me" with Eminem is a song directed to overzealous fans. The first radio single "X" is a bangin' club cut which lets us know that Xzibit ain't havin' it in 2000.
