Gangsta Pat Show Ya Grill
Redrum Records
Longtime Tennessee playa, Gangsta Pat , returns with his seventh CD "Show Ya Grill." Pat starts the disc in up-tempo fashion with the cut, "Show Ya Grill." He use the Triggerman sample. "Pussy As Niggas" is a remake of 2 Live Crew's cut of the same name. The entire disc was produced by Gangsta Pat, himself. He also remakes two of his classics with "Shootin on Narks" and "I'm the Gangsta". On "Out Cha Mouth" Pat takes it straight to the chest of all the haters and rumor spreaders. The CD doesn't really define Pat as an artist because he use styles that have been done time and time again. His best attempt was to capture the Atlanta Crunk style on "Show Ya Grill", New Orleans bounce with "Make It Bounce", and sexual style with "Can I Hit". By far this isn't the best Gangsta Pat has to offer, but it will keep his name in the game.
Guerilla Maab 3D2 In the Mist of Guerillas
Resurrection Music
The rap duo, Guerilla Maab 3D2, consist of cousins, Trae and Dougie D , and they're back for the second time minus two members. Losing two members doesn't seem to slow the crew down at all. They kept the formula by keeping their producer, Rakesk, who laid the perfect tracks for their smooth sound. 3D2's style can be compared to Bone or Do or Die. But after one listen, you can tell the difference. The cuts to check for are "Maabin'", "Let It Be Known", "If U Wanna Know", and "Guerilla Pimpin'". Trae and Dougie D's style is so smooth at times you begin to think they could have a career in R&B. "Never Give Up" is a positive cut about not letting go of your dreams. "What U Haters Say" let's us all know no matter what, 3D2 will shine. This CD is truly solid and will be a force to reckon with.
Outlawz Ride wit Us or Collide wit Us
Outlaw Recordz
The legacy of Tupac Shakur lives on as E.D.I. , Young Noble , Kastro , and Napoleon , the crew known as, The Outlawz , steps forward with their first release without his presence. They start the CD with "Outlaw 2000", a hot track featuring a rock guitar sample. The Outlawz are so compatible lyrically, at times it's hard to tell them apart. "Life is What You Make It" is a song encouraging people to live life to its fullest. "Black Rain" reminds me a lot of Pac. They touch on topics like poverty, hopelessness, and the every day struggle. There aren't many features on this disc except Spice 1 on "Smash" and TQ on "Get Paid". They also features their New Jersey click, Jersey Mob, on several cuts. The Outlawz show the world that they are more than 2 Pac's hype men by ripping through tracks like "Hang On", "Mask Down", and "Fuck Wit Me". We all need to ride wit the
Outlawz.
